New windscreen and a trip to EMWalhalla
A lot has happened in the couple of months since the last update on the 406 Coupé V6. Firstly, Auto Windscreens came good on the new windscreen, which was installed on 6 May. Predictably, the plastic trim is no longer available, so Jack from Auto Windscreens deserves a lot of credit for taking the time to preserve the old surround and avoid having to fit an aftermarket solution that wouldn't have looked as good. It's not perfect, but the screen itself is excellent and the rain sensor appears to be doing its job. Big thanks to everyone at Auto Windscreens in Plympton for going above and beyond to keep the 406 Coupé on the road.
The following weekend, the car completed an 888-mile round trip to the Netherlands to attend the excellent EMWalhalla classic car show. As has been said many times, it's like the Festival of the Unexceptional, only Dutch, with a more relaxed atmosphere, and an even more eclectic of cars. Stay tuned for a review of the event, but in the meantime, let's raise a glass of Advocaat to the 406 Coupé for completing the journey, without a problem, after seven years off the road. Not bad for a £300 spares car.
