Ahh le MIRA de France (takes off striped jumper and bad facial hair).

Great find and I've never heard of that one before. This must have set the precedent for Taxi. I can only imagine that he really, really annoyed her Dad and he sent a band of mercenary Chocolatiers after him to retrieve her honour.

Only real question to ask is why no Rover 800?

Gavin Braithwaite-Smith

Ha! Yep, I reckon you've nailed the storyline there. We should do a '50 years later' edition in 2016. Lots of Shatchbacks, Hondas and Rover 800s. Perfect.

PS - glad I'm not the only one who hadn't seen this before!

Brilliant! I think the 505 is my fave - it's been so long since I've seen one!

Great spotting.

Gavin Braithwaite-Smith

Well the 505 would have been today's update, had I not been distracted by this video.

I remember watching this film on TV (my parents probably rented it on VHS), I was about 12 years old and back then I was horrorized seen seven fine brand new saloons been trashed. The final jump should not have been very kind to the suspensions.
I would choose the 900 or the Thema; if I have to do that scene today with new cars, I´ll take the whole range of Renault or Peugeots, been so ugly to me, they deserve a severe punishment.

And yes, the film wasn´t very good.

Gavin Braithwaite-Smith

Yes, the trashing of the cars is unfortunate to say the least. But it's still good to see so many retro saloons in one place!

I'll ensure we have a selection of Pugs and Renaults for the 2012 remake. ;)

Thrashing unfortunate? Surely not? One just has to ensure they still belong to the manufacturer first. Aah fond memories of RX8's and wet grip areas.
