Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet: Wait, what?
PetrolBlog isn't at the LA Motor Show. And on the basis of what I've just seen from Nissan, I'm delighted to be here in Blighty. Because Nissan has just revealed what it says is “the world's first all-wheel drive crossover convertible, the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet”.
Two things strike me here. Firstly, has anyone actually asked for a CrossCabriolet? And secondly, who on earth is going to buy it? Surely this is a niche too far?
Well, according to Nissan it is the perfect vehicle: “to take to lunch, running errands or on a long ski weekend in any part of the country”.
Seriously, are you sure? I'm really not convinced I'd like to take a Nissan to lunch and what kind of errands would you expect me to run in it? But worst of all, are you seriously suggesting that it will enable me to go on a long ski weekend in ANY part of the country?
My knowledge of the U.S. may not be up to tourist board standards, but I'm pretty sure it isn't possible to ski on Malibu beach or in the middle of Arizona. You might want to think about the potential uses for the Murano before you bring it across to the UK. I've heard the snow isn't all that great in Leatherhead.
On second thoughts Nissan, just don't bother bringing it over at all. We'd really rather not see that on this side of the Atlantic and you'd ruin all the good work you've done recently. Thank you.
