Suzuki Swift Sport: successor to the throne?

There’s been lots of talk recently about the new offerings from Ferrari, Aston Martin, Pagani and Mini, to name but a few. But if I’m honest, there’s one car that is exciting me more than anything else and that’s the replacement for the Suzuki Swift Sport. If I’d managed to get to Geneva 2011, this would be the car I’d be hunting down.

Codenamed the S-Concept, the replacement for the Swift Sport is expected to arrive in the UK later in 2011. With more than a hint of RenaultSport about it, the S-Concept’s styling is less subtle and more dramatic than the outgoing model, but to my eyes, it looks fantastic. So a big tick in the box for the styling, but the biggest test will be to see how it performs on a British B-road.

With the original Swift Sport picking up the award for PetrolBlog Car of the Year in 2010, what’s the betting that the new model could make it two in a row for Suzuki? Watch this space.

Update: 10th August 2011 - Suzuki unveils the new Swift Sport.
